Our Mission

Empowering women through education, support, and community

We will be releasing educational programs and workshops aimed to equip individuals with the knowledge, tools, and resources necessary to regain control of their lives. We believe in fostering a community where everyone feels empowered to make informed decisions about their well-being and future.

We prioritise confidentiality, respect, and non-judgment in all our interactions, ensuring that every individual who reaches out to us feels heard and supported.

Confidentiality

Privacy and confidentiality are fundamental to everything we do. Every interaction is handled with the utmost discretion.

Compassion

We approach every individual with empathy, warmth, and genuine care — meeting people exactly where they are.

Non-Judgment

We prioritise respect and non-judgment in all our interactions, ensuring every person feels heard and supported.

The person behind Connect & Empower

Tess Jasmine, founder of Connect and Empower Karratha

Founder

Tess Jasmine

Bachelor of Education  |  Bachelor of Arts (Indigenous Studies)

Tess Jasmine is a trained primary school teacher, business owner, photographer, domestic violence advocate, speaker, and the founder of Connect & Empower. She is a woman who refuses to stay in one lane — and that is precisely what makes her work so powerful.

Driven by lived experience and over six years of deep research into women's empowerment, domestic violence, coercive control, and the social constructs that shape women's lives, Tess has built a movement rooted in truth. She has completed a micro-credential through the University of Western Australia on 'The Complexities of Coercive Control' and continues to expand her knowledge to better serve the women and communities she works with.

Through Connect & Empower, Tess creates spaces where women feel seen, supported, and equipped — whether that's through workshops, professional learning, community events, or one-on-one support. She speaks boldly on domestic violence, women in business, social constructs, and what it truly means for women to work together rather than against each other.

Beyond her advocacy work, Tess is a dedicated community member — volunteering her time and serving as a junior basketball coach, investing in the next generation of young people in the Pilbara.

Tess believes wholeheartedly in the strength, resilience, and inherent right of every woman to live a life free from control, violence, and limitation. She is not just building an organisation — she is building a movement.

Collaborator

Dr Sam Casey

Tess collaborates with Dr Sam Casey in select areas of the organisation's work. Dr Casey is a therapist, speaker, and the founder of Play Prescription — an initiative focused on supporting children and families through connection-based, developmentally informed approaches. Together, they create empowering spaces for women through workshops, networking events, community initiatives, and thought leadership conversations.
